I hope this finds you all well, it has been a while since I have touched base with you all, and the reason for that is I have been super busy meeting the new additions to our family.

These have been worrying times for businesses and families – none of us could say for sure what was going to happen to the property market or to jobs, but I’m sure Hunters have emerged from this experience stronger as we had done everything we could to future-proof our business model. And without further ado, I would like to introduce you all to the latest branches that have begun trading under the Hunters franchise umbrella.

New franchisee, Vakas Akhtar is the proud owner of a brand-new business in the amazing location of Tower Bridge, London. This area has a wide variety of property types and is home to some of the most iconic landmarks the capital has to offer, including the Tower of London, Tower Bridge which was built between 1886 and 1894 to help join the developing commercial areas of the East End to the rest of commercial London, and the Shard. The area is well located for ease of access to the transport networks of the mainline railway, several underground lines, and the DLR.

Kody Allen has converted his agency, previously trading as ‘Allenstone Estate Agents’, to Hunters Bishopsworth as a franchise partner. Located in the south Bristol area, Bishopsworth is popular with first time buyers and families due to affordable property prices and ease of commute to central Bristol. The local area is host to some beautiful landscapes including the beautiful Chew Valley Lake, the ‘chocolate box’ village of Dundry, and the Ashton Court Estate with over 850 acres of woodland and grassland.

Paul Lawson-Martin is heading up a family run business converting from former agents trading as ‘Pearson Ferrier’ to become Hunters Middleton. This area of north Manchester is home to some beautiful buildings and is steeped in history. The Warwick Mill is a fine example of the area’s cotton mill past and the local paper, The Middleton Guardian, has been reporting news to the area since 1877. The area has a thriving and diverse housing market with everything from starter homes to exclusive large family homes.

Nick Petty has converted his agency branch, previously trading as ‘McCarthy Estates’, to his own Hunters Estate Agency in the beautiful bustling seaside location of Torquay. The harbour is full of yachts, and the surrounding area has a vibrant collection of restaurants, bars, and cafes that make this a popular tourist destination, and a popular place to live and work. The area has lots to offer in its property market, from simple flats to detached houses overlooking the sea, Torquay has it all.

I am sure you would all like to join me in extending a warm welcome to all our new franchise partners and wish them all the very best in their new business opportunities with Hunters.

Over the last month I have been really interested to see the huge increase in demand for more rural properties. After uncertainty about what the Covid-19 pandemic would do to the housing market, it appears that many are embracing the opportunities to work from home more and re-evaluate the work / life balance. As demand for these types of properties increases, so does the price, which is promising news for agents and rural homeowners that are eager to sell. The data suggests that the demand for outdoor space increased during lockdown to trigger a 1.2% price increase at the end of Q2. The higher priced properties have been quick to sell as buyers at the several million pound price brackets are more able to complete transactions quickly, but now the markets are fully open and job security is a little more certain, the properties within the more ‘average’ and widely affordable price ranges are also showing an increase in demand and sales. This is a trend we are keeping a close eye on to ensure we are optimising the potential opportunities for our customers- who we always put first, and our franchise partners.

If you would like to find out more about the benefits of joining Hunters as a Franchise Partner and how we can support you to grow your own independent business, please do get in touch to start a no-obligation conversation.
