Hunters welcomes Graeme Macleod and 9 new branches to the franchise business.

As you know, I am very passionate about being part of the Hunters family, and I love my role as Franchise Director because it gives me the opportunity to support independent businesses to grow and flourish under the brand I am so proud to be a part of.

I am absolutely delighted to welcome Graeme MacLeod as our latest franchisee.

Graeme has an extensive experience in the estate agency business and has worked for some other large national brands at a very senior level. Graeme’s previous role was as Managing Director for Cumberland Estate Agents, part of the Cumberland Building Society Group, for three years before taking the courageous step of embarking on a management buyout. This move was not for the faint hearted as it entailed taking on 3 regional areas consisting of (now) 9 branches.

Graeme MacLeod and his team are newly trading as Hunters Cumbria, Hunters Lancaster, and Hunters South West Scotland.

The staff that were employed with Cumberland have also made the move to continue their roles with Graeme as part of the new franchised offices. The entire staff team have already benefited from our Training Academy sessions being delivered in Carlisle by our head office training team, and will soon be wearing their gold Hunters badges to demonstrate their success in our NAEA and ARLA endorsed HNQ, if you are uncertain what this is you can read all about it here.

Each of the 9 branches will deliver the services that you would expect from a local office, however, to really streamline the operation, the new Hunters Cumbria, Lancaster, and South West Scotland franchise regions have their operations based at their Central Sales Hub in Carlisle. The Central Hub has over 25 property professionals working there on a day-by-day basis to make them the largest single estate and lettings agency in the city; with phone lines open until 8pm on weekdays and until 4pm at the weekend, buyer and tenant enquiries, progressing of sales, and offer negotiations are effectively and quickly dealt with due to the volume of personnel support available.

This has been an incredible journey for Graeme, his great staff team, and my franchise team here at York. We have had some laughs and stressy moments along the way, but hey, that’s pretty par for the course on a process like this, (particularly when you consider the number of staff and premises making the transition to represent the Hunters brand).
