Sometimes do you wonder just where the year has gone? I had one of those ‘gosh’ moments the other day as I scheduled an event into my calendar for November – already?

Although I’m not really complaining as this is an event I really love going to and would not miss for the world. Well, what is it I hear you cry?

The Negotiator Awards 2019 – and I am very excited that so many different elements of the Hunters property group have been shortlisted for awards this year.

We are so proud that Hunters businesses are in the running for 5 of these prestigious awards.

For those that are unfamiliar, ‘The Negotiator’ is the only UK wide trade magazine specialising in estate and letting agency business news and legislation updates. To be shortlisted in so many categories is particularly exciting this year as The Negotiator reported the highest ever number of entries for the 2019 awards; this means competition is even tougher than last year!

The judging panel is made up of 19 experts from a range of disciplines and interests across the residential property market lettings and sales industry.

The judges are all hand-picked by ‘The Negotiator’ in recognition of their reputation and expert knowledge at the highest level within the estate agency business. Prior to the shortlisting event in early September, the judges are given details of all the nominees to give them a chance to really get to grips with individual merits of each nomination. On the 4th September this year, the judges met up at the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall, London for a day of review, debate, and deciding the shortlist and winners. There is fierce competition at this stage as there are a huge number of entrants and only a small number are chosen to progress to the next round. I am thrilled that the Hunters name is to be represented in 15% of the categories – this is a real testament to the hard work and tenacity that everyone puts in to building our reputation as a strong brand.

This year Hunters are represented in these categories.

  • Marketing Campaign of the Year Hunters Estate Agent
  • New Agency of the Year Hunters (Filey)
  • Regional: Yorkshire & The Humber Hunters (Ripon)
  • Regional: East Midlands & West Midlands Hunters (Stourbridge)
  • Estate Agency of the Year: 10+ Branches Hunters Estate Agent

I can’t wait to catch up with contacts, colleagues, and industry friends at the glitzy and glamourous Grosvenor House on Park Lane at the end of November. It will be hard to top the hilarious comparing of Julian Clary last year, and the astounding attention to detail of the entertainment, the food, the drinks, the dancing girls… combined with the pure elegance of a 1920’s feel to the evening; but somehow I have an inkling that we will all be in for another amazing feel good evening-whether we all feel good the morning after remains to be seen!

The awards evening is open to all, so don’t worry if you are not on the shortlist, just book your tickets and get ready for one of the highlights of the year. Don’t forget to pop over and say ‘hi’ if I don’t see you first!

Andy Bushell.
