What a weekend we’ve just had!
Each year, we at Hunters, run a sales competition across the network rewarding our high performing branches and individuals, the first of these took place in 2013 when we visited Barcelona, followed by New York last year. The Big Apple was always going to be difficult to top, but you know what, we did just that when last Thursday evening a group of 28 of us took a flight from Heathrow to Cape Town in South Africa.
I have to be honest at this point, South Africa was never really at the top of my holiday wish list, in fact I have never really given it a thought, but trust me… this is one destination that everyone should look at. We started our trip to Langa, one of the largest Townships in Cape Town, the people there may have very little, but they were very kind and the smiles on the children’s faces were amazing. From there we took a ferry across to Robben Island to see the maximum security prison and the cell that Nelson Mandela spent 18 years of his life – this was truly inspiring.
The following day we went on a tour of the wine region on cycles….yep we rode bikes from one wine tasting to another, this made the final stage interesting, but cycling through such incredible scenery was breathtaking.
On the third day we had a trip to the top of Table Mountain, this amazing nature feature is the backdrop to Cape Town and the views from the top were stunning (even though there was a rather scary cable car ride involved to get there!).
Beautiful food and the odd alcoholic drink may have also been included, overall a brilliant and inspiring trip. Thanks to all who came and good luck for this years competition because this time next year we are off the VEGAS!
